From studying to leisure time - making the most of student life

After successfully gaining a place at HRW, student life can get underway. Now you have to learn to juggle all the different aspects of university life – from lectures, the computer centre and tuition fees, to getting a part-time job, learning to use the library and finding a flat. And of course discovering the best bars in the city. After all, studying is not just about learning, but also about having fun – partying, flirting, and making the most of your spare time – for example going on cycle rides along the Ruhr or chilling out in the “Müga”, Mülheim’s Garden on the Ruhr.

Granted, HRW is so new that we cannot offer our students a campus with a canteen and sports facilities. Not yet, that is! That’s why we’ve asked our students for tips and recommendations: everything from where to go for lunch on campus to the most popular local bars and cafés.

The Campus section also provides information on how to finance your degree at Hochschule Ruhr West – University of Applied Sciences, as well as tips on finding a flat in the area.
