Mülheim an der Ruhr / Bottrop, 26 June 2020: Learning - whether alone or in a group - is an important part of studying. Due to the current development of the corona pandemic, Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences has been closed to students since March. Now, at the end of the digital summer semester, exams are due for which students must learn. But not all students have their own single room to study in peace and quiet.
The Corona Pandemic forces us as a public institution to proceed with caution: Openings of all kinds have to comply with hygiene concepts and require organisational effort. For this reason Ruhr West will remain closed.
"But the demand from students for learning rooms continues to rise. I am therefore pleased that we will be able to make our cafeteria (Mensa) on the HRW Campus Mülheim available as a learning room as of Monday, 29 June 2020", explains Prof. Dr.-Ing. Susanne Staude, President of Hochschule Ruhr West.
The cafeteria will initially be available with limited but regular opening hours from Monday to Friday. The exact opening hours are published on our „Corona website“ (https://go.hrw.nrw/vGgfuT ). Enrolled students of HRW can submit a booking request for the use of a workstation at: https://go.hrw.nrw/W7r9h0
"The workplaces in the HRW Mensa are limited to 30 persons and should currently serve primarily to support students in emergency situations, to enable them to work in a quiet, undisturbed and technically adequate manner. Here, solidarity among the students is called for", President Staude formulated a personal request.
The HRW library and its study rooms will remain closed. Students can pick up books at both locations. Information on the time slots for this and other services still offered by the HRW library can be found here: www.hochschule-ruhr-west.de/schnelleinstieg/bibliothek
