Bottrop, Mülheim an der Ruhr, 17 March 2020: The Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences will switch to minimal operation from Wednesday, 18 March 2020. With this, HRW wants to make its effective contribution to the containment of the corona pandemic. In minimal operation, the necessary infrastructure for the operation of administration, teaching and research will be maintained; the buildings will remain closed to students and the public.
The start of the summer semester has been postponed until 20 April 2020 for the time being. Since this decision has been made, lecturers are increasingly preparing e-learning courses and HRW is organising regular operation from the home office for all areas of work. The library at both locations has been closed to the public since Monday, 16.3.; however, the staff* is available by telephone and online. The same applies to the student advisory service and the student service. Internal and external events have been cancelled. This also includes examinations, colloquia and internships. The canteen, operated by the Studentenwerk Essen Duisburg, is also closing down.
