The Research Institute of Positive Computing works on the development, implementation and realization of information and communication systems of different size, design and construction.
The human well-being are focused as a central design aspect.
To this end, technological solutions are developed that take into account human needs, which help individuals and communities to develop their full potential.
On the one hand, we aim to lower accessibility barriers that may arise from individual usage patterns, cultural background or level of expertise.
On the other hand, technology must be designed in such a way that people perceive it as empowering (positive) instead of threatening or overstretching (negative).
The institute implements this way of thinking and research perspectives in a transdisciplinary approach.
Among others, inter-generational challenges are addressed, in order to contribute to the solution of societal problems and challenges (e.g. the demographic change) through the positive use of ICT and to open up new research and business fields on a sustainable basis.
