The undergraduate programme in Energy Informatics at Ruhr West produces much-needed experts for energy companies in Germany and worldwide. In the first two semesters, students acquire the technical basics before focusing on one of the programme’s concentrations, such as the international expansion and maintenance of electrical power transmission networks and the integration of large renewable energy plants, including the required control technology and network security. Other topics include energy supply, energy trade, e-mobility and smart building technology.
Emphasis on practice
The programme has a strong emphasis on practice, and students acquire important soft skills for the workplace, including management skills, technical English skills and presentation skills.
