Industrial Service Management
Optimise industrial plants and buildings!
Industrial service is multi-faceted. Along the value chain, the degree programme deals with building technology, facility management, inspection and quality management - always at the interface between technology and business.
What you can expect
The degree programme trains business economists with a broad technical background who can work in the field of business administration and technology, especially in the industrial service sector.
The part-time Master's degree programme in Industrial Service Management offers an extremely innovative focus with a future. The programme prepares students for a professional career as specialists and managers in areas such as development and research, innovation and technology management.
Your study content
The interdisciplinary content is what makes this degree programme so special! Each semester, one or two compulsory business modules (Human Resource Management or Research Methodology and Quantitative Analysis, Sustainability Management) and one module from the specialisation are offered. Technology and Innovation Management is one of the modules offered in the first semesters.
The programme includes:
- Business administration modules, such as personnel management or research methodology and quantitative analysis, sustainability management, which prepare students for working in management positions
- Specialised modules on technical project management and quality assurance deal with management of scarce resources or the basics of Six Sigma and Kaizen (permanent improvement process).
In the 3rd and 4th semesters, there is also the option of taking an elective module, either a separately offered elective module, e.g. Entrepreneurship, or a specialisation module.

What you need to bring along
- Completion of at least seven semesters of professionally qualifying studies in an economics or industrial engineering degree programme.
- At least 210 credits, of which at least 20 credits must come from modules with quantitative methods in economics, 40 credits must belong to modules with economics content, a further 10 credits must come from modules with content in industrial service management - alternatively, relevant subject-specific practical experience gained over a period of at least half a year full-time can also be recognised in this respect, as decided by the examination board, and at least 5 credits must come from modules with content in mathematics/statistics.
- Proof of proficiency in the German language equivalent to reference level C1 or higher as defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). All degree programmes are taught in German.
Application process
The application phase for the admission restricted Master’s degree programmes for the coming winter semester begins on 01. May 2024 and ends on 01. August 2024. Applications can only be submitted online via our application portal.
