Universities of applied sciences in NRW: State Rector's Conference elects new Executive Board

The State Rector's Conference of the Universities of Applied Sciences (LRK) in North Rhine-Westphalia elected a new board for the next two years at its general meeting in July. Prof. Dr. Bernd Kriegesmann, President of the Westphalian University of Applied Sciences, was unanimously confirmed as LRK Chairman.

Kriegesmann has been chairman of the State Rectors' Conference since summer 2021 and had applied for a second term. The newly elected board, which will begin its work on 01.09.2023, also includes: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Susanne Staude, President of the Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, as Deputy Chairperson, and Prof. Dr. Frank Dellmann, President of Münster University of Applied Sciences, and Prof. Dr. Dr. Sigrid Graumann, Rector of the Protestant University of Applied Sciences Rhineland-Westphalia-Lippe, as further members of the Board.

The State Rector's Conference (LRK) of the universities of applied sciences in North Rhine-Westphalia comprises 21 HAWs. These are the 16 state and four state-refinanced HAWs as well as the University of Police and Public Administration NRW. The LRK represents the interests of the universities of applied sciences in NRW. It sees itself as a player in higher education policy, actively intervening in decision-making processes at state and federal level and campaigning for the best possible framework conditions at our universities. The universities are represented in our association by the respective rectors or presidents.
